The drama was held on 11/1.
Say cheers that we had a successful performance on that night!

Here are some highlights of the night.

I am glad to have great fellowship times with my brothers and sisters.
As seen in my video podcast, they are my friends and family members in U.S.!
I hope to share my happiness as being their friends with you guys here.

This is my 3rd year in the U.S.
It is hard to study as an international student, but we all support each other and have fun at church.

Same-Sex Marriage, Civil Unions, and Domestic Partnerships

The 2008 election brought a new twist in the saga of same-sex marriage with the passage of measures banning marriage for gay couples in Florida, Arizona and in California, where the right had been granted less than six months earlier.

Source: New York Times

On Oct 26 Sunday, our church went to join the parade for supporting traditional marriage, which was held by a Chinese church organization. The parade started with 3 pastors giving a speech and people were ordered to walk from Memorial park to Stevens Creek, Cupertino.
I could not tell how many people were there exactly, but all the people were wearing a red t-shirt made by the host, and the crowd formed a "red sea".
Until now, I still remember the sense of union of christians in bay area gathering together, praying for the truth and the moral of the world. As I know, this parade was held in two other places, including San Francisco.
I'm glad that Prop 8 was passed finally....
This incident reminds me that christians should also care about the society...

Should Christians participate in Halloween?

An old proverb says, "When you sup with the devil, use a long spoon." Presumably, NO genuine Christian would want to sup with the devil at all and yet many may be doing so in ignorance.

.....

If you are a Christian parent, God has given you a precious responsibility in your children. Remember, their ability to resist spiritual wickedness is much less than yours. If you allow your children to participate in Halloween (Trick or Treating, costume parties, etc.) you are allowing them to play on "the devils turf," and Satan will definitely press his home court advantage. You are opening up doorways into their young lives for evil by bringing them into a kind of "fellowship" with these ancient "gods."

We are commanded not to become involved with the unfruitful works of darkness (Eph. 5:11). Both from my experience as a witch, and since getting saved, as a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ, I have seen far too many examples of how breaking this command works out in lives. Remember, while we have God's promise of protection for ourselves and our children, that promise may not hold if we allow our children to celebrate this dark holiday. Case after case has come to us of children in rebellion. In many of these families, the problem can be traced back to the children being exposed to Halloween at a young age. It is hard enough to raise children these days in a Godly way without exposing them to Satan's realm.

http://www.christianitytoday.com/

I'm currently hung onto this website. It gives a lot of news about Christianity. In my belief, Christianity is not only studying the Bible. But as a Christian, we have to care about the society as well. Keep updating yourself with what's around you.

Church summer retreat 2008

Our church is going to have a summer retreat on Sept 9/26-9/28 !
This year I become the committee of the planning team. It was so much fan having meetings with the young adults.
Every Sunday we have short meetings after church.
This is my recent church life.
Plus, I'm singing in the worship team in the camp, and I will be leading a group game as well.
Wish me good luck.

Photoshop time

I was an idiot about photoshop before.

Ramadhan

Here comes the Muslim month of fasting, Ramadhan.

During the month of Ramadhan, Muslims must refrain from eating, drinking, smoking, marital relations or getting angry during the daylight hours.

Why does Islam oblige its followers to fast during Ramadhan each year?

  • As a spiritually and physically cleansing experience. Just as in other world religions, fasting is seen as an opportunity to separate yourself from the things of this world and to concentrate on your relationship with God.
  • To become closer to God by contemplating his will in your life.
  • To build self-discipline and to become a better person.

And I remember the prayer and fasting time that Christians have.
